The Cuban Latin Jazz featuring International lineup presents a fusion of jazz music, Latin – Cuban rhythms, Cuban Afro, salsa and classical music performed by young highly accomplished musicians. The four talented musicians of different nationalities have played hundreds of live shows around Europe. And have just released their debut album.
The Cuban Latin Jazz’s live set-list reveals the musical roots of Cuba as its bandleader Roland Abreu was born in Havana and lived there until he was 20 years old. Roland is a talented double bass player, composer and music producer. Now he lives in Europe, where is his second home. He graduated from The Music Acadamy in Havana and Wrocław. Roland’s passion, vision and virtuosity are the driving force behind The Cuban Latin Jazz. Saxophone player Taras Bakovskyi comes from Ukraine, where he studied. He continued his education in Poland as a student of legendary European jazz player Piotr Baron. Taras collaborated with many jazz artists, including Frank Parker and The Jazz Collective. Pianist Paweł Kukuła studied in Warsaw and Wrocław. He collaborated with many jazz musicians. Drummer Dominik Jaske is a prodigy. He started to play drums as a 6 years old kid. He studies in Wrocław.The Cuban Latin Jazz’s debut is released in January 2019 „Juntos Por Siempre” (V Records). The album reveals track list of both original band’s compositions and important Cuban musicians.
Double-bass player and composer. He comes from Havana, where he was born and lived until he was 20. He’s been into music since his childhood. He graduated the famous Conservatory of Music Guillermo Tomasa Bouffartiguesa in Havana. He took part in numerous festivals, including Jazz Plaza. In 2007 he won the first place in the Musickalia competition. He appeared alongside such stars and bands like: Klazz Brothers, Bobby Carcasses and Afrojazz, Michel Herrera and Jovenjazz, Jadasni Portillo and Cause, Ernesto Camilo, Luis Nubiola. He performs in Europe with the Cuba group Percussion and Yaqueline Castellanos.
Saxophonist and composer, born in Lutsk. Laureate Awards of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. He has been awarded many times in international competitions ,as: 1st place in the New Names competition Ukraine in Kiev. Together with his Sauce Band he performed at the most important Ukrainian festivals: Odessa Jazz and Music Dialogues. He cooperated with many outstanding people musicians, including with drummer Frank Parker, touring with The Jazz Collective. He played with a highly regarded European double bass player Vitold Rek during On The European Culture Stadium. He worked with Michel Bow (USA) and Marcus Strickland (USA).
Pianist began his music adventure at the age of 7 at the State School Musical in Grudziadz. Being a member of the music band the took on the first experience in music jazz and improvised. In 2007 he left for Warsaw, where he studied at the Faculty of Jazz at Bednarska in Warsaw, and after a few years in Wroclaw at the Music Academy. He took part in festivals and competitions, and played in many Big Bands, including «Aquarium» and Film Jazz Project, Noel y Su Sabor de Cuba. Over the years he collaborated with leading Polish musicians and world jazz, both young generation, as well as legendary world-class musicians. In music The team pays special attention to the feeling and message of what often brings simplicity to the highest level.
He freely moves in various music styles from jazz starting with salsa, gospel, funk, hip-hop, on folk music original ones. He improved his skills, among others on Department of Jazz at Bednarska in Warsaw under the supervision of legends of Polish jazz. He collaborated with many artists Polish and foreign scenes, such as: Wayne Ellington, Elaine Simphson, Brian Fentress, Grzegorz Piotrowski, Marcin Pendowski, Mateusz Krautwurst, Nick Sinckler.
